The hike up to the to Upper Yosemite Falls was a very challenging one. My dad and I walked for hours, and we were very lucky it didn’t rain. We even passed a little first aid situation, and some hikers complaining of hangovers. One of the things that impressed me the most about this hike was how friendly people were. After all, you don’t want to get into a jam up there with no one willing to help!

Ever since we started planning the trip to Yosemite, the Upper Falls was something I really wanted to check out, and it did not disappoint.

The previous day, we hiked up the Mist Trail and John Muir Trail past Vernal Falls to Nevada Falls. The views were equally breathtaking, but we got rained on pretty heavily! Good thing we were fully prepared with waterproof jackets and pants. We didn’t see a whole lot of other hikers on that trail due to the weather, but we did pass some park rangers on horseback. Overall, these trails and waterfalls are what I will always think of first when I think of Yosemite.

I still have photos of the Sequoia Trees and Glacier Point to share! I saw a dude in a local cafe (here in Toronto) today wearing a Yosemite Mountaineering School shirt and consider it a sign to post more.
